Short biography:

Childhood

I was born in the family of engineers on the 21st of April 1983 in Donetsk, Ukraine. My mom Raysa G. Turchanovich and my dad Yevgeniy N. Byelikov both graduated from Taganrog Radio Technical University. As I heard from my dad it wasn't easy to study in that school. So I guess the ability to study hard is one of good qualities that I've inherited from my parents.

From the very childhood my ears got used to the songs of A. Pugachova, L. Vaykule, V. Leontiev and, occasionaly, of my dad. So from the cradle I got to love music and singing. One of my favorite time spendings in childhood was to put on my scene costume (a huge red dress in white spots that a long time ago belonged to my aunt) and perform the top-hits of those times specially for my parents and relatives. Oh yes! I used to think I was a super star of soviet show business.

But the singing carrier had to wait. I've spent the most part of my time in kindergarten "Sunshine" since I was 4 years old. If I asked myself what were the brightest memories of those years, the answer would be: green sour tomatoes, zukinni paste and samolina pudding. Those were the delicacies of that institution I am full of till now. In "Sunshine" I was taught to make friends, to read, to count and to cultivate parsley at the local vegetable patch, quite enough, in short, to start an adult life. Somehow my parents didn't think it was sufficient, so in the age of 5 I joined English club and Art school. I have to admit it was a wonderful choice of my parents I am grateful for now. Even today I get a great pleasure from drawing. As for foreign languages, they've become one of my greatest passions in life.

School

One nice sunny day on the 1st September of 1990 having said goodbye to my beloved "Sunshine", holding a huge bouquet of flowers I entered the school ¹37 classroom. The greatest impression of that day was seeing bright pink ribbons tied to the brades of a girl sitting in front. Oh, how I wanted those ribbons!!!!Well, I didn't get them, but I've got a wonderful friend - their owner Lena Vasilyeva. She was my best school friend with whom I got to share my sorrows and joys throughout the school years and still do. Our common interest in foreign langueges turned into Lena's present speciality.

Being used to hard studying I didn't have an idle moment at school. From the very first grade my goal was to achieve the highest results possible: I assiduously conquered school disciplines and took part in Russian, Ukrainian, English and Economic Geography olympiads.

Apart from school classes I learned playing piano in the music school, I graduated from in 1997; joined folk dances and ball dances clubs; studied English, Greek and French languages; together with my best friend sang in Greek quoir.

FINALLY! Thanks to my music classes I got to be a real singer, even though just at the school stage. Starting from 6th grade I had been singing at all school concerts. And my participation in cultural projects of Donetsk Greek association gave me a wonderful chance to visit Greece twice. Useless to say that I fell in love once and forever with this beautiful country, its' sun and unforgettable music. You would too.

The 1999 was the most memorable year of my life. I participated in Freedom Support Act cultural exchange program and won a scholarship for living and studying in the US for a year. I got to live in a small town of Rice, Minnesota, although during my staying I also got to visit Washington, St. Paul, New York and Minneapolis. The exchange student experience let me improve my English, meet lots of interesting people, significantly broaden my outlook, enrich my cultural background and tell Americans about my country and its' traditions. I studied hard by habit and graduated from American school with high honours. I should admit though that studying there isn't hard, but much more interesting than in Ukraine. Highschool students have a row of disciplines by choice and a grate range of extracariculum activities from golf club to DECA (marketing club). The teachers are much more open while communicating with students. As for me, I was always drawn by stage. That made me join Drama and get an experience of an actress and a prop-director assistant. I enjoyed it immansly all along the year.

After my comeback to Ukarine in 2000 I graduated from my school in Donetsk in 2001 awarded with gold madal (high honours in Ukrainian manner :)).

University

Inspite of my passion for foreign languages and cultures,It was hard for me to picture myself in the role of university teacher or translator.

I wanted to become a specialist in some other field.

A great temp of IT development and not so great number of specialists in this field promissed a good future. Therefore I decided on a major related to computer technologies.

Automated Control Systems has drawn my attention as the graduates with this major have a great range of employment opportunities from industrial interprises to bank offices.

So, in 2001 I passed rating tests and became a DonNTU student majoring in ACS.

I was lucky to get into ACS-01a group. My class mates turned to be a rare type of smart, sympathetic and at the same time fun people being ready to help each other. The time passed fast, even though occasionally studying was a pain. But I beleive that just that knowledge earned and worked for during the sleepless nights has become by now a good base for professional improvement.

In 2005 I got a bachelor of Computer Science degree with GPA 5.0/5.0. Still it wasn't enough. I decided to go for the master of Computer Science.

Dissertation

From 2002 to 2005 I worked as engineer-programmer in Complex Research Institute of Donetsk. There I worked in a team of developers on a project of Automated Fire-Alarm system. It was a valuable experience to write the program code for microcontroller based pressure and temperature sensors. The next project I worked at was research and development of automatic currency validators.

My dissertation is connected to infomation computer processing in these devices.

I find it interesting as my project is based on real application task, it's not just the abstract scientific reasearch, which is important as for me it's more attractive to see the results of my work.

Future plans

Never know what happens in the future :).

Well, right now my main goal is to successfuly finish working on master's dissertation and graduate from university.

As for proffessional skills, I plan to master C# programming, XML and Oracle database administration.

I see myself working in IT. Hopefully my future job will be also connected to frequent business trips as I enjoy travelling.

I want to learn skating and skiing unless I'll be living in Hawaii :). Dream of learning Portugueese.

Special Thanks

To my dad for being my motivator and making me move forward all the time, in one word for his great expectations and the responsibility for them laid on my shoulders :).

To my mom for being a wise and patient advisor always ready to listen and help me out. In short, for her talent for psychoanalysis.

To my dear granny for being my nanny as well.

To my sweety Duke, a lovely dog, for his unfailing sense of humour and appetite :) which makes me believe that some things never change.

My life wouldn't be what it is without you guys...
