ABSTRACT

of Magister's work:

"Research of landscape-territorial conditions in Donetsk region in the aspect of ecological network forming"

Actuality. Administrative-territorial approach dominates at regional econets planning. But econet’s essence supposes the consideration of landscapes territorial factors at econet planning. Therefore actuality of this theme is conditioned by the necessity of changing administrative-territorial approach changing into landscape-territorial one.

The research of landscapes, administrative, geobotanical, geographical and other features of Donetsk region in the aspect of forming regional econet forming is the purpose of this work.

The econet is the territorial system, which is being created in Ukraine with the purpose of improvement of environment optimization conditions, naturally-resource potential increase, landscape and biological variety maintainance by uniting the objects of the naturally-protected fund, and also other territories which have the special nature protection value.

The econet is characterized by such properties, as hierarchicalness and structuralness. There are Alleuropean, national, regional and local econets.

The econet consists of core areas, ecological corridors, buffer zones and restoration areas.

Main steps of the Alleuropean econet forming are showed on picture 1.

Core areas provide the maintainance of valuable and typical components of landscape and biological variety. There can be objects of NPF, elements of hydrographical network, forest arrays, steppes areas etc.

Ecological corridors connect core areas between them. Latitudinal natural corridors provide zonal character connections, and meridional ones accord with the valleys of the large rivers.

Buffer zones execute the function of core areas defence and ecological corridors from the external influencing. There can be natural territories of the extensive usage, and also arable earths..

estoration areas provide forming of spatial network integrity. Mainly there are the broken, degraded and underproductive lands.

The econet planning regional features consideration is required: (for example, natural, socio-economic conditions, transfrontal natural objects etc.).

Donetsk region occupies the south-east extremity of Ukraine. In accordance with the geographical districting the region belongs to the steppe area. The regional territory forms 4 % areas of Ukraine, but here 10 % population of country, 20 % of industrial products, 30 % muddy flows and 40 % extrass in the atmosphere are concentrated.

In the region there are almost 900 major industrial and over 2000 small industrial enterprises.

Therefore the problem of maintainance of biological and landscape variety is the priority problem for our region.

The special role of NPF is underlined by all normative documents about the econet. Almost all categories of NPF are presented in the region : three separations of the Ukrainian steppe preserve, national natural park “Sainted Mountains”, Donetsk botanical garden, five regional landscapes parks, 7 reserves of national value and 45 of local value, 7 monuments of nature of national value and 27 of local value, 12 protected natural boundaries, one park-monument of park art.

The conception of the regional ecological network foresees the usage of characteristic landscapes features: hydrographical network, the protecting planting system, road network, network of cities of sustainable development cities, health establishments complex and etc

The hydrographical network can serve as regional ecocoridors. On Donetsk regional there are about 3 thousand very little, little and middle small rivers among which only 247 have the length more than 10 km.

The system of the protective-reclamative planting corresponds to setting of econet functions on the agricultural setting lands.

The network of highways and railways on Donetsk region is considered one of the most developed in the country. Mainly they are supplied by waysides defence strips which are the original component of the ecological network.

In Donetsk region there are 50 cities and 135 settlements of city type. Parks, public gardens, boulevards, planted trees, suburban green areas and other component parts of city landscape, are of great importance for the econet forming.

The social aspect of the ecological network in Donetsk region is illustrated by numerous children's health camps, rest camps, resort hotels and etc.

The creation of the regional econet is a difficult problem which is solved by different structures. The decision of these questions is carried out at three levels:

1. State office of ecology and natural resources in Donetsk region. Functions: common guidance, providing connections, representative management, preparation of requirement specification, NPF.

2. Donetsk regional administration. Functions: conducting of seminars, conferences, active level.

3. Donetsk botanical garden, Donetsk national technical university; Donetsk institute of tourist business. Functions: basis of work, methodology, bibliography, landscape-ecological aspects,NPF.

Our role is to bring a necessary natural base, to give the landscape-territorial explanation to the question of the regional econet creation.

As a result of the research it is assumed to develop recommendations in relation to forming of the regional econet with the consideration of the landscape-territorial features of Donetsk region.
