    At present the problem of complete working of a deposit with maximum excavation of the mineral is still open. This question is also important because large amounts of mineral remain in guard and protective pillars, and pillars in their turn increase considerably with deepening of development workings and worsening of mining and geological conditions.
     Scientific and research works as well as practical experience at mines show that decrease of the mineral losses is possible, but only on conditions that additional protective measures are applied. These measures are aimed at discharging of soil heaving.

Urgency of the theme

     Because of constant deepening of mine workings (at present some shafts are deeper then 1200m) at Donbass mines there exist the problem of mine workings maintenance. And in present economic conditions mining enterprises cannot afford application of sufficiently effective measures of underground workings protection, consequently they have to leave guard (protective) pillars.
     The norm of the mineral left in pillars mustn`t exceed 10 - 15% of the total amount of the mineral. In fact, the losses exceed the standard limits considerably.
     From the said above it follows that the topic chosen is of high importance.

The objective

     The objective of the present research work is to develop the technological system of mine workings in the specified conditions with the maximum excavation of the mineral and the minimum expenses on protection and maintenance of mine workings.

The description of the work

     The given work analyses the excavation and deposit development system and workings maintenance, applied at the mine. The most appropriate development system and workings maintenance method are chosen. The technical and economic comparison is carried out; the most technically justified and economically efficient method of protection and maintenance of mine workings at pillar less excavation is determined.
