1 Abstract

        The matter of the research work is investigation of electric drive of the mine electric locomotive on the base of Brushless DC motor.
        A Mine electric locomotive has a low parameter on the level of use without technical developments. The electric drive of the mine locomotive is obsolete.
        The urgency of researches in this direction is conditioned by low efficiency of maintenance of DC motors used now.

2 Purpose and problem of the thesis

        The purpose of the thesis is to research processes and substantiation of automatic electric drive of the mine electric locomotive on the base of Brushless DC motor.
        It is necessary to solve a series of primal problems.
        1. Development of the mathematical model of the new drive on the basis of Brushless DC motor.
        2. Design of the automatic control system of the motor in the function of position of rotor and use of the pulse-width method of regulation.

3 Automatic electric drive on the base of Brushless DC motor

        Motor control is carried out using signals a, b, c in the position of the rotor resolver.
        The bit pattern specified six different positions of the rotor and derivable from the position resolver.
        Diagram of Brushless DC motor operation is presented in figure 1.

        Keys VT1-VT6 of current inverter are connected to power-supply source the stator windings.
        The stator windings U, V, W are located on the stator with a shift of 120°.
        The magnetic field of rotor is kept to stationary values concerning the stator field. It creates a torque on a shaft of the motor.
      The microsystem of automatic control is used to control Brushless DC motor.

4 Mathematical model of the Brushless DC motor

        The mathematical model of the Brushless DC motor is used to research processes in the electric drive.
        The equation featuring electrical part of the motor in coordinate system d, q is:

        The vector coincides with the direction of axis q. Decomposing vectors on axes d, q in expression (1), we get the following simultaneous equations:

        The equation of torque of the motor is:

       The condition of mechanical balance is presented by the expression:

               (4)

        Change of rotational speed of the Brushless DC motor is carried out by changing voltage brought to the motor and use pulse-width method of regulation.

5 Conclusion

        One of the ways how to improve the drive of the electric locomotive, is refusal from the use of the DC motor and inefficient control circuit in the electric drive.
        We can offer to solve the problem by using the Brushless DC motor.
        The solution of the problem can be use in the electric locomotive of the Brushless DC motor. The Brushless DC motor with electronic control systems has the best qualities of noncontact motors and DC motors.
